LIVLIHOOD PROGRAMS
Last 17 years Karunya Trust have been working to empower women by mobilizing and organizing through self help group for the sustainable development of the community. Its focuses on enhancing the living conditions of the rural and the urban communities of Maharashtra. We do this by organizing communities through self help groups. Providing health care, education and disaster management skills and fighting for children’s rights.
Goal: Improved economic status of the 36 tribal village population in Ambernath and Kalyan Talukas.
SHGs: over 90 Self Help Groups have initiated various income generation programs like vegetable cultivation, goat rearing, bag making, pappad making, vessels on rent, generator on rent, started various types of shops in small scale
FARMERS CLUB: 11 Farmers clubs are formed in order to promote organic farming and linked to National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development
Institue of Social Animation and Vocational Education (iSAVE) First batch of 24 women completed training in Tailoring, paper bag from Govandi slums. and 31 girls completed tailoring course and began income generation from Ambernath Taluka
B: Automobile Training: 15 Studnets are given automobile training from Mullund ITI. 4 of them are placed as interns in various automobile workshops
