Why We Intervene
There are people whose lives, health or ability to see depend on receiving an organ. At the same time, many people remain unaware of the life-changing possibility of organ donation or hesitate to discuss it with their families. Karunya Trust began Mruthunjai to encourage greater awareness and informed conversations around organ donation. We believe that the gift of life can continue even after a person's own journey comes to an end.

Understanding Organ & Tissue Donation
Organ and tissue donation can give others a second chance at life. Depending on the circumstances of death, different organs and tissues may be suitable for donation. Understanding what can be donated and the time involved can help families make informed decisions.

Why Timing Matters
After brain death, the heart may continue to circulate blood with ventilator support, allowing certain vital organs to remain suitable for transplantation.
After circulation and breathing have permanently stopped, some tissues may still be suitable for donation if they are retrieved within the prescribed time and under appropriate conditions.
